Labour time calculation is not merely a theoretical question — it needs to be put into practice.
For this purpose, a web application has been under development for more than a year. It is intended as a tool to help implement labour time calculation in practice. The app is envisioned as a platform for democratically organized enterprises and their workers to exchange products and services in accordance with the “Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution” (GIK). The application is not yet mature enough for real-world use, but it is getting close. The release of a stable version is planned for autumn 2022. The current (alpha) version can be accessed at https://arbeitszeitapp.herokuapp.com Anyone interested is welcome to create an account — only an email address is required.

The Initiative for Democratic Labour Time Calculation (IDA) is pleased to announce that the source code for the application is now publicly available. The project is hosted on GitHub and can be found at https://github.com/arbeitszeit/arbeitszeitapp 

The development team is currently focused on reducing user barriers and making the application more easily internationalizable.
