Following a resignation

Yesterday, Susanne Hennig-Wellsow resigned as co-chair of Die LINKE.
In her statement, she wrote that the “past months have been one of the most difficult periods” in the party’s history.
And, as often happens after defeats, voices within the party are calling for new concepts and a programmatic renewal. Hennig-Wellsow said:

“In opposition, there must be a strong party to the left of the SPD and the Greens—one that exposes the social, ecological, and peace-policy blind spots of the governing coalition through constructive criticism, and that brings progressive ideas into the public debate, guided by a socialist compass. (…) A real new beginning has not taken place.”

We believe that labour time calculation offers a concrete and progressive concept that indeed follows such a socialist compass.
We do not provide political consulting, but we would still recommend that Die LINKE, in the spirit of a genuine new beginning, take a closer look at the idea of a decentralized, cooperative planned economy based on labour time.
