Working time instead of money – how businesses can calculate using working hours.

“Everything that constitutes a liberated society already exists in some form, we only need to set the existing elements free,” is the closing sentence of the 2022 book Society After Money. In it, Günther Sandleben shows how widespread planning with working time already is today. Companies, he argues, could therefore easily apply working time accounting instead of the usual capitalist cost accounting. Beyond this, Sandleben explains why labor vouchers are not money, why planned economy does not require a state, and why working time accounting does not mean forced labor. This raises, among other things, the question: Can working time accounting begin here and now? An evening not only for socialist and syndicalist accountants.
