Dear Friends and Comrades,
We are looking for programmers for the “Arbeitszeitapp,” which has been developed over the past three years by members of IDA. The goal of the app is to implement the theory of labor-time accounting as a web application, based on the ideas of the Group of International Communists.
The potential applications of the app range from use in communes and federations of cooperatives to simulations and experiments aimed at advancing labor-time accounting. It is intended to be a tool for post-capitalist practice.
Specifically, the app enables workplaces to submit and publish production plans including labor-time costs, exchange production inputs with other workplaces, and record working hours. Workers receive certificates for their labor, which they can use to acquire products from other workplaces. Cooperation and transparency are supported through collaboration, democratic oversight, and the approval of plans by a democratically legitimated body.
Although development is already well advanced, the current developer team (consisting of about 4 regular members) is looking for additional support from programmers. Several necessary features still need to be implemented, and there are many optional improvements we would like to add.
The main programming language is Python, and half-hour online meetings are held weekly, with communication in English.
More information about the app can be found on GitHub or on our blog.
We kindly ask for your support in spreading this call and hope to find more motivated comrades!
