As every month, we would like to share some activities and news with you:
We have now compiled all the articles from Jungle World’s 2023 discussion series on working time accounting into a brochure and added a foreword. Definitely worth reading to get an overview of the debate! Contributions by Felix Klopotek, Philip Broistedt & Christian Hofmann, Julian Bierwirth, Simon Sutterlütti, Jonna Klick, Hermann Lueer, ourselves, and Hannes Giessler Furlan. You can download the brochure in german language as a PDF here.
A reminder: on May 15 we will be discussing “Council Democracy and Social Self-Organization” with Dario Azzellini at Café Kotti. All information can be found on our blog.
We have contacted collective businesses to gauge interest in working time accounting. You can read about the survey results and our next steps on our blog.
At the end of May, a nationwide networking meeting of collective businesses will take place near Kassel. Among other things, the founding of an umbrella association is being considered. If you’d like to know more, you can read about it in this interesting article in graswurzelrevolution.
We have been invited to several summer camps this year. We will probably be at the Spalt24 Networking Conference (May 22–27), the International Summer Camp in Poznan (July 8–14), and the AMS Camp in the Black Forest (August 15–18). Maybe we’ll see you there!
The podcast Future Histories is dedicating an episode to the topic of democratic working time accounting for the second time this month — this time focusing on “care” with Heide Lutosch. It’s encouraging to see that even the utopian left increasingly feels compelled to engage with the concrete utopia of democratic working time accounting. In the not-too-distant future, we also plan to publish our own perspective on care work.
On May 17 we will once again have our regulars’ table at Kleinod in Neukölln, starting at 8 p.m.
